Artists from 11 countries to participate in 51st issue of Martisor international music festival in Moldova

Chisinau, 24 February /MOLDPRES/ – Artists from 11 countries (Switzerland, Italy, China, Russian Federation, United States, United Kingdom, Romania, Poland, Germany, Belarus and Moldova) will participate in the 51st issue of the International Music Festival "Martisor" which will take place on 01 – 10 March in Chisinau and districts of Moldova.

Culture Minister Monica Babuc said today at a press conference that the festival would be attended by Vladimir Spivakov from Russia, Leonardo Quardini, Italy, Alexander Anisimov, Belarus etc., but also by Moldovan citizens who perform on great world stages: Andrei Jilihovschi, Alexandra Conunov and Oleg Baltaga. In premier, current edition will be attended by artists from Chinese Opera Tianjin from Beijing and consecrated artists from Poland – Tadeusz Domanowski and Monica Wolinski who will perform with the National Chamber Orchestra of Moldova.

According to minister, traditional festival brings to public the famous national artistic collectives: National Academic Ensemble of Folk Dance "Joc", National Orchestra of Folk Music "Lautarii", Ensemble of Songs and Dances "Fluieras" orchestras of popular music "Mugurel" and "Folklore" and the National Chamber Choir, Choral Chapel "Doina", Ensemble "Concertino – Band" etc.

"These special concerts will be able to enjoy the audience in several localities of districts: Straseni, Anenii Noi, Criuleni, Cahul, Ialoveni, Hincesti, Ungheni, Cimislia, Cantemir, Nisporeni, Balti, Rezina, Calarasi, Straseni, Soroca, Orhei, Telenesti, including Ribnita city and village Molovata. A special event this year is presenting of eight performances in territory by national academic folk dance ensemble "Joc"", said Monica Babuc.

Totally, this edition includes 22 performances in Chisinau and 26 in districts of Moldova.

"We are looking forward to spring arrival very much, we are aware that its breath rejuvenates us and gives us hope that things will be much better in Moldova. So that to have even a stronger impression of this feeling we invite you to come to the concerts of the International Music Festival "Martisor", the official said.

According to the manager of National Philharmonic "S. Lunchevici" Svetlana Bivol, the price of a ticket to concerts there are from 0 to 300 lei, while four performances (03, 04 and 05 March) will be free, by financial support of Cultural Institute "M. Eminescu" in Chisinau and US Embassy in Moldova. The manager of National Palace "Nicolae Sulac", Andrei Locoman, said that a ticket would cost 100 – 1,200 lei.

The festival budget consists of the amount of 1.6 million lei.
