Moldovan-Croatian political consultations held in Zagreb

Chisinau, 6 March /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Daniela Morari participated in an informal Meeting of the SEECP Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the South European Cooperation Process (SEECP). The event was organized under the auspices of Croatia’s acting Chairmanship in the SEECP. Moldovan-Croatian political consultations on the European integration were held in Zagreb on 3 March.
According to the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's information and media relations service, the participants discussed the latest developments in South-Eastern Europe and their impact on the regional cooperation and the processes of European integration of SEECP member-states.
Daniela Morari informed about the Moldovan authorities' efforts in promoting the country's transformation, and voiced interest in boosting cooperation with Croatian partners, given the recent experience of joining the EU.
The sides agreed on resuming the activity of the joint commission on European integration, due to organise the second meeting in Chisinau. Morari highlighted importance of key-cooperation areas, such as - harmonisation of legislation, strengthening institutional capacity and efficient communication with the public on issues related to European integration.
Also, the officials approached the perspectives for development of the Eastern Partnership. The Moldovan side opted for a strategic vision meant to meet the ambitions of associated countries of the EaP to get closer to the EU, and the EaP Summit is to be used as a discussion platform for building this vision, which should focus not only on sectoral cooperation, but also political dimension.
