Moldova, Ukraine mark 25 years of diplomatic relations

Chisinau, 11 March /MOLDPRES/- In the context of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Moldova and Ukraine, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin have exchanged congratulatory messages, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media relations service has reported.
In his message, Galbur found the intense and constructive character of the political dialogue between Moldova and Ukraine, contributing to strengthening relations of friendship, good neighborliness and mutually beneficial cooperation. He noted the active cooperation of the states in meeting the common goal of European integration, including in terms of new challenges and threats to regional security.
In this context, the officials pointed out the firm position of Moldova and Ukraine on settling the conflicts existing in both states via political and diplomatic methods and observing sovereignty and territorial integrity of the two countries.
For his part, Klimkin noted that during the 25 years, the countries followed a path that was not easy, meant to build statehood and due to the diplomatic efforts, the bilateral relations have developed. He underlined that Ukraine aims at boosting the relations of friendship and good neighborhood with Moldova, including in the context of promotion by the two countries of the European integration goal.
Also, exchanges of congratulatory messages between premiers of the two states were carried out on this occasion.
Diplomatic relations between Moldova and Ukraine were established on 10 March 1992.
