Moldovan parliament adopts draft on extending by three months term of registering vehicles with foreign numbers in special conditions

Chisinau, 24 March /MOLDPRES/ - The transport means introduced in Moldova till 1 November 2016 will be able to be registered in the country till 1 July this year by the payment of 30 per cent of the excise duty, under a draft law passed by the parliament today.

The authorities ruled to extend the period initially provided to remove the present barriers and give possibility to an ever larger number of people to benefit from the cut of the tax.

So far, over 14,300 touring cars have been registered in Moldova, with a 70-per cent cut in excise duties, of which 1,200 were registered in the Transnistrian region.

At the same time, according to data unveiled by the Finance Ministry, about 320 million lei was collected from the registration of vehicles with foreign numbers, and the number of applications is on the rise.
