Moldovan PM meets Ukrainian counterpart

Chisinau, 27 March /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister of Moldova, Pavel Filip and Prime Minister of Ukraine, Vladimir Groisman, hold a bilateral meeting in the context of the meeting of Heads of Governments of the Member States of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The officials discussed the possibilities for boosting bilateral partnership and the achieved progress in implementing the Road map on development the Moldovan-Ukrainian cooperation for 2017, signed recently on 13th February in Kiev.
During the meeting, Prime Ministers Vladimir Groisman and Pavel Filip discussed issues regarding the mutual recognition of property rights, completion of the border demarcation and establishing operating conditions of the Dniester Hydro-power Complex. Additionally, Prime Minister Pavel Filip highlighted the importance of cooperation between the sides for protecting the ecosystem of the river Dniester. In this sense, to be signed a joint addressing to the European Commission for requesting assistance in identifying mutual beneficial solutions for the Dniester operation.
Also, Prime Ministers Filip and Groisman discussed about the necessity of coordinated actions so as to start joint control at customs posts, including the Cuciurgan – Pervomaisk and Palanca – Mayak – Udobnoe border crossings and the opening of the bridge for car movement between localities Unguri and Bronita.
Similarly, Pavel Filip mentioned the importance of holding the 14th meeting of the Moldovan-Ukrainian economic cooperation, stressing that this would result into the boost of bilateral partnership and identify new opportunities for cooperation in various fields.
Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman said that the protocol on free trade zone in the GUAM area would boost cooperation within organization and would facilitate creation of new jobs.
Prime Ministers Pavel Filip and Vladimir Groisman confirmed their determination to implement all actions provided by the roadmap related to bilateral cooperation.
Also today, Prime Minister Pavel Filip, together with his counterparts from GUAM member states, met with President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko.
