Moldovan, Swiss officials discuss bilateral cooperation, reforms

Chisinau, 29 March /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur met Kiev-based Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Moldova Guillaume Scheurer on 28 March, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media relations service has reported.
The officials approached the current stage of the Moldovan-Swiss bilateral cooperation, assistance provided through the Swiss Cooperation Office in Chisinau, as well as collaboration within international organizations.
Galbur highly appreciated Switzerland support in economy and policy, and highlighted the importance of boosting the dialogue between the governments and parliaments of the two countries.
For his part, Scheurer pointed out that his country would back projects in such sectors as: healthcare, decentralization, migration etc.
The officials also exchanged opinions about the social and political situation in Moldova. Galbur noted that despite uneasy reforms, Chisinau is motivated to continue implementing the Association Agreement with EU, which is the foundation of the government programme.
“There are many good things happening now which will take effect in the long term, meant to make Moldova more attractive to investors. We will prove that the model of European development we have chosen is the best for Moldova”, he concluded.
