Moldova ICT Summit 2017 starts in Chisinau

Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/- Moldova ICT Summit-2017, 8th issue, started in Chisinau today. The event is considered as the most important in Moldova in the information technology and communication sector.
“Moldova ICT Summit has shown it is an effective platform for cooperation between ICT sector, government, business community, development partners and civil society. Through joint efforts, the IT branch is one of the fastest growing in the country which has doubled export turnover in the last years”, Deputy Information Technology and Communication Minister Vitalie Tarlev said.
The official noted that the summit’s organizers were committed to assess ICT industry’s reviving in Moldova, with expertise at first hand supported by international partners, as being found technological opportunities and models due to be implemented to ensure a sustainable development of the sector.
At the same time, asked about the situation in creating IT parks in the country, Tarlev noted that “any tax intervention in legislation requires ample process of registration and time”.
This year, Moldova ICT Summit was held in a new format with its own headquarters, Tekwill centre. The event was scheduled for one day, but, according to organizers, “with a full and effective agenda”.
The forum focused on developing competitiveness of the ICT sector in Moldova, promoting IT entrepreneurship and proliferation of innovation. According to the agenda, the event was focused on three areas of great interest: ICT4Development, ICT4Startups, ICT4Education.
Moldova ICT Summit 2017 is organized by the National Association of ICT companies under the Information Technology and Communication Ministry, supported by the US Agency for International Development, government of Sweden through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Austrian Development Agency together with several partners.
