Moldovan-Czech diplomatic relations’ 25th anniversary marked at National Libray

Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/ – An exhibition of documents and publications titled, Moldova – Czech Republic: strengthening cultural partnerships was inaugurated at the National Library of Moldova (BNM). The event took place on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Moldova and the Czech Republic.
The event was attended by State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Andrei Chistol, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Moldova, Zdenek Krejci, Director General of the National Library of the Czech Republic Petr Croupa, representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in Chisinau, people of culture.
In his greeting, Czech Ambassador to Moldova Zdenek Krejci said that within 25 years, the relations between Moldova and Czech Republic have grown so deep in political, economic and cultural fields, as well.
At his part, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Culture, Andrei Chistol outlined the importance of the organized activities at cultural and educational levels of cooperation between the two countries and expressed the hope that they would proceed into further positive results.
Director of the National Library, Elena Pintilei said that the exhibition included sections on culture and Czech literature, history, architecture and art of the Czech Republic, the most attractive tourist places, European course of Czech history, Moldovan-Czech and assistance Czech Republic to Moldova – totally, over 200 documents and publications. She also presented the National Atlas of the Czech Republic, a valuable donation from the Czech Republic to Moldovan National Library and handed in to Czech Ambassador, Zdenek Krejci, Testimonials "25 years of relationships" on behalf of BNM.
It was signed the agreement of cooperation between the National Library of Moldova and the Czech National Library, at the event.
Diplomatic relations between Moldova and the Czech Republic were established on 01 June 1992.
The exhibition will be open until 07 April.
