Moldovan farmers to receive financial support for last spring late frost

Chisinau, 05 April /MOLDPRES/ – The Cabinet approved the Regulation on the granting of financial support to farmers today, as to lower the consequences of late frosts in spring of 2016, which establishes requirements for those who may require allowance and the procedure for granting it, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The mechanism approved by the government, the farmers have to be submit personally or through authorized representative financial support requests to the local administrative-territorial unit of level I special commission. The special commission will include the mayor, city council secretary, cadastral engineer, mayoralty and a local accountant. The deadline for submitting application is 10 days from the date of the special committee setting.
The financial support is calculated based on the affected area, damage extent, comparable price for 2015, compromised harvest and applicant contribution to the state budget. Allowances will be granted through Agriculture Paying Agency.
All applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will receive financial support from funds available in the emergency fund of the Government. However, those who distort this data will be included in the Agency list of prohibited farmers.
There is to remind that on 26 – 27 April 2016, in some Northern districts (Briceni, Donduseni, Drochia, Glodeni, Ocnita, Riscani and partially Soroca), there were recorded temperatures below the biological resistance, which caused more damage to the agricultural sector, in fruit harvest mostly.
