Firemen rescue seven-year-old girl hanging at balcony in north Moldova city

Chisinau, 29 May /MOLDPRES/ - A seven-year-old child hanging at a balcony on the fifth floor of a block of flats from Balti has been saved by firemen.  

The press officer at the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), Liliana Puscasu, said that the incident had occurred on 28 May afternoon.  

“The child was alone at home when the incident took place. Rescuers were alerted by the girl’s father, who had been earlier called by the child. During the operation of rescuing the minor, the girl’s father tried to keep her calm when speaking to her by phone. A team of firemen intervened on the spot and carried out the rescue mission through a hook and latter truck. In less than ten minutes, rescuers got down the girl in safety and managed to calm her,” Puscasu said.    

The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the Interior Ministry warn persons who take care of minors not to leave them unsupervised and urgently call the 112 service in case of risk situations.   

IGSU data shows that firemen have saved 25 children in diverse risk situations since early 2018.
