Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ – The inhabitants of Japca commune, Floresti district, will have access to drinking water after launch of water pipe system construction works in village on 31 May.
The works take place within the project "Water for Life in Northern Region: Floresti and Soroca", supported by Swiss Water and Sanitation Project in Moldova (ApaSan), Swiss Confederation SDC Agency, Austrian Development Cooperation Agency and implemented by North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord). The system is due to be completed in autumn 2018.
Director of ADR Nord, Vitali Povonschi, has mentioned at ceremony of works launch that ApaSan currently provides support to ensure access to quality water services and other rural localities in Floresti district. However, sub-project from Japca is one of stages of implementing a larger project, financed from sources of the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR), as to ensure connection to quality water for citizens from 10 rural localities from Floresti and Soroca districts. "A public service for drinking water supply to population of beneficiary communities is also being created within project. The more citizens will be connected to water supply system, the more durable the project will be," said director of ADR Nord.
The cost of the sub-project at Japca is about MDL 8.2 million, of which ApaSan co-financing represents MDL 7.57 million, the contribution of SA "Servicii Comunale Floresti" – MDL 184 thousand. Also, MDL 116 thousand have invested local authorities and over MDL 326 thousand – inhabitants of village.
The construction of water supply system in Japca, as well as in localities Zaluceni, Vertiujeni and Targu – Vertiujeni is co-financed by ApaSan with MDL 29.9 million. The total value of project "Water for Life in the Northern Region: Floresti and Soroca", launched in Baharasti in August 2017, is over MDL 66 million, of which almost half, requested from the FNDR, are meant for construction of some similar systems and other neighbouring rural localities.
