Moldova, Georgia, Ukraine sign document to set parliamentary Assembly

Chisinau, 09 June /MOLDPRES/ – Parliament Speaker, Andrian Candu, and his counterparts Irakli Kobakhidze and Andriy Parubiy, have signed today the document on setting of parliamentary Assembly of Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine in Kiev.
According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, the Assembly will have an advisory status and its status will be approved at a subsequent meeting.
This interparliamentary structure will serve as a platform for promoting interests of citizens of three countries as well as cooperation and exchange of experience on areas of common interest. The three SPs have been unanimous on need to be more sound internationally, especially linked to position of Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine on current common security challenges, including energy security, unpunished presence of foreign troops on territories occupied by Russia in three states, misinformation and false news.
The heads of three Parliaments have committed themselves to cooperating for good implementation of reforms and commitments assumed to get status of EU-associated states and to share good practices, taking into account common aspirations to join EU.
The SP is accompanied by head of Commission of Foreign Policy and European Integration, Violeta Ivanov, and the President of the Group of Friendship with Ukraine, Eugeniu Nichiforciuc.
Parliament Speaker, Andrian Candu, attends second Interparliamentary high – level Conference Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, which takes place in Kiev on 08 – 10 June 2018. It will be signed a document setting parliamentary Assembly of Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine at this meeting. The first interparliamentary high – level conference of Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine took place on 02 March in Chisinau, where the three SPs pledged to unite efforts as to promote common policies of defence and security.
