Tourist cluster to be created in central area of Moldova

Chisinau, 10 June /MOLDPRES/ – The mayoralties of villages Cioresti, Nisporeni district, Micleuseni and Dolna, Straseni district, initiated a project to create tourism cluster "Dor de Codru". It will be carried out by the end of 2018 with support of Swiss Government and involvement of natives migrated in project MiDL implemented by UNDP.
"This project is truly unique and necessary for people. It is an innovative model, through which several localities identify a common problem and join their efforts to solve it, including support of migrants," said Project Coordinator at Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in Moldova, Radu Danii.
The total project budget is about $76.5 thousand. Out of amount, about $7.5 thousand is contribution of migrants, gathered by crowdfunding. Over $14,000 is local government contribution and nearly $5 thousand – investment of a private partner which is a tourism company in Chisinau. The burden of costs will be grant of Government of Switzerland in amount of $50 thousand.
Interviewed by agency, Valeriu Gutu, the mayor of Cioresti commune, Nisporeni district, said Cioresti – Micleuseni – Dolna area has great potential for tourism development, which is currently not valued. This stimulating tourism within area can be an important pillar of boosting local economy.
"We set out to inventory and re – evaluate all localities with tourist potential into area. Let us revitalize tourist attractions, create and pilot some valuable routes in the region," said Valeriu Gutu.
As a result, it will be set Intercommunity Association "Dor de Codru", as to coordinate in perspectives promotion of tourism in the area. Also, there will be created and exploited five unique tourist routes.
"The locations in Codrilor area have health – friendly conditions, picturesque places and popular craftsmen being real attractions for tourists. By creating a tourist route, people of three localities will capitalise on their basic occupations and beautiful things they have around them. It is a way to develop community and provide stable and prosperous sources of income," said for agency Mayor of Cioresti, Valeriu Gutu.
