Governmental commission for reintegration of Moldova convenes new meeting

Chisinau, 12 July /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip chaired on 11 July the meeting of the Governmental commission for reintegration of country. During the meeting, it was presented the actual stage of the Transnistrian settlement negotiations, it was reviewed the work of existing dialogue platforms and recent achievements within implementation of the so-called Berlin plus package, the new initiatives and priorities promoted by parties, the lessons learnt from the multi-sectoral dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol, as well as the next steps to be undertaken by the end of 2018, the office for reintegration policy’s information and media communication service has reported.
There was appreciated intense dynamics of negotiation process, with the following achievements taking place during 01 January – 11 July 2018: a formal round in the "5+2" format, 24 meetings at the level of political representatives and 51 sessions of sectoral working groups. Also, it was noted the signing in the first half of 2018 of 3 sectoral documents (the interaction in the field of veterinary and plant protection, mechanism for participation in the international road traffic of means of transport in the Transnistrian region, roadmap for telecommunications) and the focus on their implementation, including the protocol decisions signed in November 2017.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip noted the importance of the Platform of Governmental commission as a framework for stimulating the promotion of sectoral policies for reintegration of country, positively assessed the work of sectoral working groups and marked progress in negotiations, thanked Chisinau chief negotiator for record of significant results and efforts to accelerate the processes initiated, mentioned the need to further mobilise experts from the right bank of the Dniester to proactively participate in negotiations, promote more viable initiatives and achieve new beneficial results to population interests of both banks.
Also, during the meeting, it was referred upon the situation in Security Zone (SZ), recent events that took place in its perimeter, intervention actions which were ordered by the competent authorities of Moldova, as well as some aspects regarding preparation of the conceptual mechanism for implementation of the Protocol decision of 24 April 2018: "On participation in international road traffic of non-commercial vehicles in the Transnistrian region", organisational measures taken on it, adjustment of normative field framework, etc.
Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Lesnic referred to certain deadlock situations in the Chisinau-Tiraspol dialogue, made a detailed retrospection on activities at the meeting in Rome (on 29 – 30 May 2018), noting that the protocol signed within it was one balanced and constructive, highlighted the new additional priorities announced by Chisinau at the beginning of 2018 (monitoring and maintaining stability in ZS, ensuring respect for human rights in the Transnistrian region), welcomed the resumption after a long pause of work of the human rights working groups, as well as intervening to the members of Commission to make an essential contribution to promotion of Moldova's reintegration policies.
