Chisinau, 20 August /MOLDPRES/- Classical music sounded again between the centuries-old towers of the Tighina Fortress. The National Youth Orchestra of Moldova returned to the citadel with the La La Play tour after the resounding success of 2017. Over two thousand people attended the event.
16 young musicians, journalists, photographers and directors cross over 2,000 km through the Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine and bring classical music to 12 locations.
“The tour promotes important social issues by playing classical music. It is more than pleasant to realize that music has built a nice relationship between the two banks,” Adriano Marian, the head of the National Youth Orchestra of Moldova, said.
“It is an honor to be in this historic monument, together with our Tiraspol partners, at their invitation, along with musicians and a music loving audience. This event is proof that, through respect, understanding and time, confidence building brings results and makes the difference. It is an honor for the EU to contribute to the renewal of cooperation between the two banks and to participate in the near future in the restoration of this unique historical monument, such as the Tighina Fortress,” Fabien Schaeffer, project manager at the EU Delegation to Moldova, said.
The event was organized with the financial support of the European Union, under the Support to confidence-building measures programme, implemented by UNDP.
