Government of Moldova committed to implement Agenda of Sustainable Development, centred on people

Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, and United Nations Development Programme Administrator, Achim Steiner, attended an event organised jointly by the Government of Moldova and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in New York on Friday, 28 September. It examined the experience of Moldova in implementing the Sustainable Development Agenda.
According to the government's communication and protocol department, the Prime Minister appreciated the solid partnership between the Republic of Moldova and UNDP, which supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Objectives in Moldova. The National Development Strategy Moldova 2030, which is to be approved in upcoming future, was elaborated for their achievement at national level.
The National Development Strategy Moldova 2030 identifies a modern vision of inclusive development and centred on the people of the Republic of Moldova. We have all the determination to fulfill the commitments that derive from this document," said Pavel Filip.
Also, the PM said that the support of UNDP and other development partners in implementation of the National Development Strategy is essential for its successful implementation. In this context, it was highlighted the importance of new SDG Impact initiative of UNDP, aimed at attracting capital and private investment in the sectors relevant to achieving the Sustainable Development Objectives.
UNDP Administrator, Achim Steiner, confirmed the full opening for an efficient collaboration with Moldova, expressing full support for the development and modernisation of Moldova.
