Over 160 non-profit organizations to benefit from percentage designation

Chisinau, 2 October /MOLDPRES/- A number of 163 non-profit organizations applied to the Ministry of Justice to be registered in the percentage beneficiaries list.
According to the Ministry of Justice, all organizations requesting a 2% income tax exemption will be checked. If they have debts, they will have to pay them within 10 days or will be excluded from the list.
The list of beneficiaries of the 2% exemption for 2019 will be published on the ministry’s website and by late 2018 the document will be sent to the State Tax Service for calculating the amounts to be directed to each beneficiary. Thus the money can be used for public utility activities – social, moral, cultural or charity.
The mechanism of the 2 percent of the income tax was adopted in 2016 and is applied from 2017 for the income earned in the previous year. For 2016, 21201 taxpayers exercised their right to the income tax percentage, 2,821,243 lei were allocated for 302 public associations and religious groups.
