Moldova's National Statistics Bureau to be reorganized

Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/ - The National Statistics Bureau (BNS) will be reorganized, under a cabinet decision due to be published in the 5 October issue of the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
According to the document, the National Statistics Bureau will be reorganized by merger (absorption) with the public institution, Information Service of Financial Reports under BNS.
The decision establishes that the National Statistics Bureau will have 705 employees in all, of whom 242 in the central apparatus and 463 in the territorial subdivisions (regional centres for statistics), including 150 interview operators for statistics researches in the social sector on households. At the same time, to carry out selective statistics researches of small agricultural producers, BNS will additionally employ 90 interview operators for carrying out the research on ground. The financing will be made from the state.
Following the reorganization, BNS will have a director general and three deputy directors general.
The present decision enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Journal.
A regulation on the organization and work of the National Statistics Bureau will be published in the same issue of the Official Journal. The regulation establishes the mission, basic duties, powers and organization of the work of BNS.
