Two national roads to be rehabilitated with Chinese support in Moldova

Chisinau, 17 October /MOLDPRES/ – Two national roads will be rehabilitated with the support of Chinese Industrial and Commercial Bank (ICBC). The Cabinet of Ministers has approved today the decision on initiation of negotiations on draft Financing Agreements between the Government of Moldova and ICBC, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

Following the signing of the Agreements, there will be rehabilitated national road M5 which includes sector Criva – Balti and will be reconstructed road R13 – Balti – Floresti – R14.

The rehabilitation of these roads is a continuation of the Project Support Programme for the Road Sector implemented with the support of the International Financial Institutions (IFI). The project aims to support Moldova in the rehabilitation of the national road network, facilitate the road transport, increase the safety and capacity of road network management.

The estimated loan amount consists €228 million.
