Chisinau, 12 November /MOLDPRES/ - German partners have showed their wish for the parliamentary polls to be held fairly and objectively in Moldova. Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Iurie Leanca today made statements to this effect, after he had unveiled the results of his working visits to Bucharest and Berlin.

At a news conference, the official specified that he wants that there is a pro-European parliamentary majority following the parliamentary elections due in Moldova, and the relations between Moldova and the EU states boost.

„The European integration goal remains fundamental for our country; therefore, we make important efforts, for the dialogue with the European countries be substantive. In Berlin, I had meetings with more German officials. During the meetings, I discussed the bilateral relations, the Moldova-EU cooperation, Germany’s role in the formation of these ties, the challenges faced by Moldova, Transnistrian conflict and the actions needed to be undertaken for the withdrawal of the Russian troops from Moldova. At the same time, we agreed that the German partners organize hearings at the Committee on European Affairs or the foreign policy one, in order to present the achievements and problems of our country. Moldova’s representatives will attend the meeting as well and after it, we hope that our relations will advance,” Leanca noted.

Referring to his official visit to Bucharest, the deputy prime minister said that the bilateral agenda had been discussed within the visit.

„The visit has repeatedly proved the Bucharest officials’ openness for Moldova. They showed the political and economic support. The Romanian partners rely on the extension of the commercial relations, increase of investments and continuation of joint projects. An important subject was the restoration of the Chisinau-based Mihai Eminescu National Theatre and the construction of two bridges: in Ungheni and the country’s southern region. Also, decision-makers will soon announce the day when a joint meeting of the Moldovan and Romanian governments will be held,” Iurie Leanca added.

Deputy Prime Minister Iurie Leanca paid a working visit to Bucharest on 23-24 October and to Berlin on 6-7 November. This was his second official to Germany and the fourth one to Romania, in his capacity of deputy prime minister for European integration.
