Moldovan PM demands competent services to work 24/24 to ensure road traffic, help people

Chisinau, 25 January /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, has had a discussion today with all the services involved in removing the consequences of bad weather conditions, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The departments in charge have reported that the situation in Moldova is complicated by glazed frost, ice and hoar frost, especially in villages where the ice layer is thick. However, the situation is under control. There are not localities which are disconnected from electricity. All medical institutions work according to the schedule. The national and international routes are under the supervision of the National Police Inspectorate (IGP) and General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU).
The work was done throughout the day on 24 January to late night, and at 04:00 the works resumed. There have been involved 460 special technical units and over 1,060 road employees in the works. There were besprent over 4,352 tonnes of anti – skid material.
The situation is more complicated in the southern and south – eastern parts of Moldova, in districts: Hancesti, Cimislia, Cahul, Cantemir, Anenii Noi, Causeni and Stefan Voda. Temporarily, the circulation for heavy vehicles is ceased on routes: Cahul – Giurgiulesti, Anenii Noi – Stefan Voda – Causeni and Comrat – Cantemir.
In the fight with the glazed frost, ice and unblocking the transport units, there have participated the army, policemen, rescuers and employees of the National Army (AN). During the night, the passengers of the Tiraspol – Etulia route were stopped due to frost and accommodated in locality Taraclia, Causeni district. On the Causeni – Saiti section, there were unblocked 6 transport units, with 8 persons, which were accommodated by the Causeni IGSU during the night. Totally, the rescuers have unblocked and trailed 75 transport units across Moldova.
The PM called on all competent services to work non – stop throughout the day to provide the necessary help to people and ensure circulation on national and international routes, as well as access to social institutions. Also, the citizens are asked not to go on long trips with their personal transport units if there are no emergencies.
In the event of a crisis because of blockages by snow, the citizens can call the IGSU at 022 – 73 – 85 – 45 or the Emergency Service 112.
