Chisinau, 25 January /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and Minister of International Trade Diversification of Canada James Carr in Davos have discussed the fostering of the Moldovan-Canadian relations on all dimensions and Canada’s proposal to reform the World Trade Organization (WTO), the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.
The officials noted that the extension of the bilateral ties, especially of the commercial and economic ones, can be achieved due to the full turning to account of the potential of the bilateral foreign investment promotion and protection agreement (FIPA), signed during a visit to Ottawa by the Moldovan diplomacy head last summer. The sides found out that a special role in the extension of the commercial and economic cooperation between the two states belongs to provisions of the Free Trade Agreement signed between Canada and EU, as well as the opportunities of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement between Moldova and the European Union.
In the context, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi urged Canadian companies to consider investment possibilities in Moldova, stressing the role of the IT services and the digital economy Moldova can provide in the world.
