Moldovan foreign affairs minister says regulation of electronic commerce to help enhance well-being of people throughout the world

Chisinau, 25 January /MOLDPRES/ - The regulation of the electronic commerce nationally and internationally will contribute to the enhancing of the well-being of the people from all over the world in the new age of the digital economy. Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi made statements to this effect at an informal ministerial meeting of the World Trade Organization titled, Opportunities and Challenges of WTO Member States in Electronic Commerce Sector, held within the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.
In the joint declaration on electronic commerce, approved by 66 WTO member states in Davos today, Tudor Ulianovschi welcomed the transparent process on the international negotiations and stressed the need to regulate the electronic commerce, taking into account the role of the small and medium-sized enterprises in Moldova’s economy.
Also, the Moldovan diplomacy head reiterated Moldova’s firm commitment to the reformation of the world commerce system based on the principles of multilateralism and predictable development of the national economies.
The event took place one year after the adoption of a Joint Declaration on Electronic Commerce, at the 11th WTO Ministerial Conference from December 2017 and was organized by Australia, Japan and Singapore.
