Strong wind ripped roofs of several buildings in Moldova

Chisinau, 12 March /MOLDPRES/- Over 1,500 square meters of roofs from several buildings in the country have been snatched by the strong wind.
The press officer of General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, Liliana Puscaşu, said that risk situations were registered following the strong wind.
"According to IGSU information, 70 slates of seven houses in Cobusca Veche village, Anenii Noi district, and the roof of the gymnasium in the same locality have been snatched and damaged, due to strong wind. In Mândreşti, Telenesti district, strong wind destroyed over 1,000 square meters of slate from on the roof of the school. The roofs of the educational institutions were affected in Larga and Drepcăuţi localities, Briceni district," Puscasu said.
Bad weather conditions were also in Balti, Sangerei, Soroca, Orhei, Donduseni, Criuleni, Edinet, Ocnita. Emergency Commissions are expected to estimate material damage recorded. Moreover, strong winds intensified the fires of vegetation.
97 fires have occurred in the country in the last 24 hours. Most outbreaks occurred in Ialoveni, Străşeni, Anenii Noi, Leova, Cahul and Gagauzia. In this context, firemen urge people to comply with fire regulations and ignite vegetation and rubbish to avoid massive fires.
Meteorologists forecast +10 degrees Celsius, light rainfall and moderate wind for today and next days.
