The data of the Romanian Publishers' Association show us that, in 2018, book sales increased by 30 per cent compared to 2017. An important achievement is the fact that these days in Botanica sector of Chisinau it was opened bookshop Carturesti. On the first day, it was sold all book production, especially the book of personal development and the organisers understood that there is an interest in the book for us, especially among young people. The salon has become a meeting place for intellectuals. Most of the launches take place at the National Library, one of the main organisers of event. In the end, the publishers from Romania and Moldova will make book donations for our libraries”, said Igor Sarov.
Attending the event, the Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Liliana Nicolaescu – Onofrei, has mentioned that the International Book Fair is a soul project. "It should be good to think about joint projects, which means meeting in all levels of social – economic life in Moldova and Romania. I want to thank the organisers and all those for whom the book is a special thing. For those who come from education, it is well known that those children who have as an example the book and who are read in childhood, have greater success in life. I hope that parents and children, all those in love with the book, will come here, because we shall have many interesting events, which will urge on what the bending to book means, bending to reading. Let us not forget that for us all this means the continuation of the flower bridges, continuation of bridges that must turn into daily projects. The book means power”, specified Liliana Nicolaescu – Onofrei.
