Moldovan PM meets Council of Europe's Secretary General

Chisinau, 16 September /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu met Council of Europe’s Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić in Strasbourg today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Ion Chicu congratulated the European official on her election to the office of CoE Secretary General and thanked for the constant support provided to Moldova by the Council of Europe. The prime minister confirmed Moldova’s firm commitment to implement the Association Agreement with EU. Chicu highlighted the justice reform and the economy’s modernization among the first priorities.
The 25th anniversary of Moldova’s partnership with the Council of Europe is marked in 2020 and PM Ion Chicu highly appreciated the effects of this cooperation on the edification of the rule of law state and people’s well-being. The prime minister emphasized that the expertise provided by the Council of Europe’s structures, as well as the dose of constructive criticism were indispensable in Moldova’s efforts to advance in the carrying out of the domestic reforms.
