Moldovan state to finance more entrepreneurs in agriculture

Chisinau, 25 June /MOLDPRES/- Forty-five start-up entrepreneurs will benefit from state support to launch a business (start-up projects) in agriculture. They have submitted projects that provide for investments in agriculture worth about 40 million lei and that will generate over 80 new jobs, according to the preliminary results of call VII on the launch of strat-up projects in agriculture.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, for the development of these start-ups, the state will provide about 26 million lei from the National Fund for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Environment.
"In this context, 24 projects will be launched and managed by women, and another 21 young farmers. There are projects aimed at establishing / modernizing multiannual plantations, and as a result will be established 32.7 ha of fruit plantations (plum, cherry, sour cherry, peach, apple), nut plantations - 79.2 ha (hazelnut and walnut), vineyards - 6.8 ha, aromatic crops - 5.9 ha (lavender) and fruiting shrubs (blackberry, raspberry and gooseberry) - 3.8 ha (in total about 128 ha of multiannual plantations) ", the Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) said.
Also, projects have also been submitted in the livestock sector and refer to the establishment of bee farms, the establishment / modernization of cattle, sheep and pig farms.
The financing of start-ups through the “advance subsidies” mechanism aims to provide new opportunities to young farmers and women who want to develop a business in agriculture.
