Moldovan parliament speaker has meeting with representatives of European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations

Chisinau, 25 June /MOLDPRES/ - We want the snap parliamentary elections to be held fairly, freely and with ensuring the right to vote to all citizens of Moldova, no matter where they are. Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii today made statements to this effect at a meeting with the head of the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations (ENEMO), Zlatko Vujovik and his deputy Elene Nizharadze.
According to the parliament’s communication and public relations general department, the speaker said that the state’s obligation was to ensure access to exercising the right to vote to all citizens, no matter whether they are in the Transnistrian region or abroad.
Greceanii noted that the creation of conditions for the exercising of the right to vote for the citizens from outside the country and those from the left bank of Dniester contributed to their reintegration in the life and processes from Moldova.
Zinaida Greceanii specified that she wanted the ballot to be held fairly and the citizens should not influenced by anybody and the observers should be equidistant towards all electoral contenders.
At the same time, the parliament speaker thanked the guests for decision to participate in the monitoring of the snap parliamentary elections.
For his part, Zlatko Vujovik said that this was the fifth electoral process he was monitoring in Moldova. ‘’The mission will assess the voting process, by taking into account the international electoral standards for the carrying out of the democratic elections,’’ the official said.
The mission’s head appreciated the exchange of opinions on the voting on the left bank of Dniester and showed interest in the work of the Central Electoral Commission and the number of polling stations in the Diaspora.
The European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations is an international network made up of 21 non-profit, non-partisan and non-governmental organizations from 17 countries from the Central Europe and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, of which two European Union countries, set up in Opatija, Croatia, on 29 September 2001.
