Chisinau, 25 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Satiricus Ion Luca Caragiale National Theatre will end its 30th season with a new premiere, a play titled, Parlamentul sau comisia de anchetă (The parliament or the inquiry commission), by the Romanian dramatist Mirel Talos, stage management by Alexandru Grecu,  on 26 June at 18:30.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the theatre’s artistic director, Alexandru Grecu, said this was the fifth play staged at Satiricus in the anniversary season. On this period, ravaged by the pandemic, the theatre has managed to come up with five premieres before the audience.

According to Grecu, the play, The parliament or the inquiry commission, treats a generally human subject, which persists in any country of Europe or from all over the world. ‘’It is about the very well known topic in all times, from ancient times till the present days – the relations between creators, intellectuals and the power. This is the eternal dilemma: who are more important, more useful for the society – creators or politicians? This is a satire developed to absurd and this is our way of existing in the world. This is the fight between the beauty and ugliness,’’ the stage manager noted.

The author of the play, The parliament or the inquiry commission, is a well-known Romanian politician, former member of Romania’s parliament in three legislative periods in a row, as well as a famous prose writer. In this work, Mirel Talos makes his debut in dramaturgy and the play at the Satiricus Ion Luca Caragiale National Theatre is an absolute premiere.
