EU, member states continue to be generously and in solidarity with us - Moldovan president says

Chisinau, 27 June /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu sent a message on the occasion of the seven years since the signing of the Association Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, the presidential press service has reported.

"It is the key document in our relationship with the EU, which helps us modernize the country, the institutions and the economy. Thanks to the Free Trade Area, Moldovan goods are becoming more and more present on the European market ", Maia Sandu's message reads.

The head of state mentioned that, in recent years, the EU has become our country's main trading partner, with about 67% of Moldovan exports going to the European market today. Laws have been changed, and the EU, through its programs, has provided expertise and leverage to make our products more competitive, and has supported the development and consolidation of SMEs. At the same time, jobs have been created in various sectors - from agriculture to IT and renewable energy.

"The European Union and its Member States have been and continue to be by our side, generously and in solidarity. It is our turn to work so that this support is felt by every citizen ", she said.
