Two minors drowned over weekend

Chisinau, 28 June /MOLDPRES/- A 15-year-old girl and a nine-year-old boy drowned over the weekend. On Sunday morning, divers from the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) recovered the girl's body from the Dniester waters, and in the evening - the boy's body was found in Lake Ghidighici.

According to IGSU, the minor drowned in the Dniester, near Răscăieți locality, Ștefan Vodă district. She went swimming with two other friends.

The 15-year-old girl sank under water and never came out. Rescuers were alerted on the spot and carried out underwater search works during the evening, as they were suspended at night. On the morning of June 27, the minor's lifeless body was found by the team of divers at a distance of 70 meters from the alleged place of drowning, at a depth of 5 meters ", IGSU press officer Liliana Pușcașu said.

After the case on the Dniester, in the evening of the same day, the divers were asked to intervene to carry out underwater works in Lake Ghidighici. According to rescuers, a 9-year-old boy entered the water and never came out. He went swimming with his family, but entered the lake alone. Soon the relatives established that the child is not and alerted the 112 Service. The minor's lifeless body was recovered at a distance of a few meters from the shore.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, since the beginning of the year, 36 people, including 7 minors have lost their lives in the water basins in the country.
