Over 2,000 drivers fined on weekend

Chisinau, 28 June /MOLDPRES/- On weekend, over 2,100 drivers were documented by employees of the National Inspectorate of Public Safety / INSP / because they drove with deviations, of which 1,100 drivers exceeded the speed limit.

According to INSP data, during this period, 39 drivers were driving drunk, and in seven other cases the drivers of the transport units refused the alcohol test. One of them, in a state of advanced intoxication, was stopped near Brăviceni locality, Orhei district.

Failure to follow the traffic rules by drivers caused 21 serious road accidents, resulting in 27 injured people.

Also on weekend, patrol inspectors had talks with the drivers of mopeds, bicycles. The young people from the courtyards of the blocks of flats also received safety recommendations, and the pedestrians who crossed the street illegally were sanctioned.
