Moldovan pupils won medals, mentions at international Olympiads

Chisinau, 30 June /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan team won three bronze medals and honorable mentions at the European Physics Olympiad, edition 2021. The competition was organized by Lithuania and took place online on 19 -26 June.
The bronze medals were won by Vladimir Secu, Ștefan Nicov and Marius Frija, pupils of the Orizont Theoretical High School in Chisinau, and the honorable mentions were got by Patrick Căruntu and Victor Șotropa, pupils of the same high school. Attending the competition were 320 pupils from 46 countries, the Republic of Moldova being represented by 5 pupils and two teachers.
At the same time, Victor Purice, a pupil of the Orizont high school won the bronze medal at the 32nd International Olympiad in Informatics. The contest, organized by Singapore, took place online on 19-28 June.
The competition in Singapore was attended by 335 pupils from 90 countries, Moldova was represented by 4 pupils and two teachers.
The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and the National Agency for Curriculum and Assessment appreciate the dedication and involvement of teachers and managers in organizing and conducting activities to promote high-performing students and thanks the National Olympic Council for Physics and the State University of Moldova for the support in ensuring the participation of the Republic of Moldova in the European Physics Olympiad.
