Moldova to receive grant worth 19 million dollars on behalf of Japanese government

Chisinau, 30 June /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers held a meeting today. The government members approved a draft decision, which provides for the starting of negotiations and approval of an agreement on grant between the cabinets of Moldova and Japan, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The draft assistance sees the providing of financial means worth 19 million dollars, as non-refundable grant, to improve the equipment for preventing fires. Thus, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) will benefit from ten ladders and nine special vehicles of intervention in fires and extrication, while rescuers and firemen will benefit from training.
„I hope that this so generous grant, provided by the government of Japan, will help for the technical and material consolidation of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations and the Interior Ministry, in general. Use this assistance offered to Moldova at a maximum,’’ acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi said.
