Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/- The European digital certificate COVID-19 officially enters into force today. Thus, the citizens of our country who have got vaccinated in Romania can download their certificates online. Chisinau health authorities have previously announced that more than 50,000 Moldovans have got vaccinated abroad.
The web portal https://certificat-covid.gov.ro, from which Romanian or foreign citizens can generate their EU digital certificates on COVID is already available.
The European certificate is free of charge, and in the case of minors under the age of 14, parental consent is required. The certificate generation time can be from a few seconds to an hour, depending on the number of requests. When the certificate is generated, the person who requested it is notified by e-mail.
Upon entering the member states of the European Union, the verification of certificates is done by scanning the QR code. The user can access and view it both from the list of certificates - by selecting the certificate, and by actually downloading, in pdf format, the document, which can be printed.
In situations where there are inaccuracies between the information filled in by a person and those registered in the databases connected to the https://certificat-covid.gov.ro platform, data corrections must be made. Therefore, the request for the issuance of vaccination certificates must be made at least 5 working days before the time of use. For the generation of certificates, the computer system takes the necessary data from the National Electronic Vaccination Register for the persons who have been vaccinated. Certificates include a QR code that will contain a digital signature so that the authenticity, integrity and validity of the document can be verified when read. The digital signature is provided by STS, so citizens do not need their own digital signature.
Yesterday, President Maia Sandu told a TV show that Moldovan citizens could travel to EU countries under COVID vaccination certificate issued by the Chisinau authorities. "This topic was discussed at the level of EU countries and the Republic of Moldova is among the 10 countries whose citizens can enter EU countries - or if they have a negative test for COVID-19 or if they have a vaccination certificate with a vaccine recognized in Europe . So, those who have been vaccinated with a vaccine recognized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) will be able to present it", said the head of state.
The European Union on Wednesday added the Republic of Moldova to the list of non-EU countries, whose citizens can enter its territory without restrictions. However, it is up to each country to decide the rules of entry into its territory. Earlier, Hungary, Georgia and Turkey announced that they recognize the COVID vaccination certificates issued by our country.
