13-year-old girl from Tiraspol drowned in Dniester

Chisinau, 8 July /MOLDPRES/- A 13-year-old girl from Tiraspol drowned last night while bathing in the Dniester River.

According to the Tiraspol interior department, the girl and a friend went for a walk around the city, and later changed their minds and went to the beach. She went into the water and could not get out. Her friend noticed that the girl was drowning and jumped to save her, but without success.

Divers went to spot shortly after the incident. The minor's lifeless body was found only this morning, 10 meters from the shore.

According to the data of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, since the beginning of this year, 39 people, including 8 minors, have lost their lives in the water basins of the country.
