Candidates spent over 43 million lei for 11 July election

Chisinau, 10 July /MOLDPRES/- Candidates for the snap parliamentary elections of 11 July presented to the Central Electoral Commission the latest report on the financing of the campaign, which cost 43,316,927.11 lei.
According to the electoral legislation, the contestants who opened an account with the mention “Electoral Fund” were obliged to submit to the Commission, within three days from the opening of the account and, subsequently, weekly, reports on the financing of the electoral campaign. Therefore, 18 bank accounts were opened to finance the electoral campaign of the electoral contestants; five contestants informed about the non-opening of the account with the mention “Electoral Fund”.
CEC has got 191 financial reports so far. 3,484 donors were registered, of which 3,019 private people from the country, 409 private people from abroad, 56 legal entities.
Sunday's legislative elections will be attended by 23 candidates - 20 political parties, two electoral blocs and an independent candidate.
