Speaker meets delegation of European Parliament's observer mission

Chisinau, 10 July /MOLDPRES/- We hope tomorrow we will have fair, free and equitable election with all 23 candidates, said Speaker Zinaida Greceanii at today's meeting with members of the European Parliament's Observer Mission delegation, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
At the same time, the speaker said that the right to vote must be ensured for all citizens of the Republic of Moldova, regardless of their location. "Polling stations must be open, in direct proportion to the number of citizens with the right to vote who are in that territory, regardless of whether it is in the Transnistrian region or abroad," said Zinaida Greceanii.
According to the official, on election day observers should monitor the electoral procedures in all polling stations open both on the territory of the Republic of Moldova and abroad.
The delegation is led by MEP David McAllister, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, and will monitor electoral procedures in Chisinau and other parts of the country. They will visit the polling stations, attend the voting process and open the ballot boxes, count the votes.
They will also hold a press conference after the election and present their preliminary conclusions on the electoral process.
