Snap parliamentary elections held in Moldova

Chisinau, 11 July /MOLDPRES/- Snap parliamentary elections are taking place in the Republic of Moldova today. For the 101 mandates of deputy, 20 political parties, 2 electoral blocs and an independent candidate are competing. Polling stations opened at 7:00 and will close at 21:00.
At today's polls, about 3,282,288 voters are expected at the polling stations. The first polling station abroad has already opened in Japan at 07:00 local time (01:00 Chisinau time), and the first citizens of the Republic of Moldova, who exercised their right to vote abroad, in the early legislative elections, have former Dorin and Ludmila Guțu, established for 14 years in Toyama Prefecture, Japan, announces the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
Most voters are in Chisinau, where 641,189 people are expected at the polls. In Gagauzia are registered 130,290 voters, and in Balti - 102,433. In the districts on the left bank of the Dniester, the lists include 258,598 voters.
In total, 2,150 polling stations will be opened today, of which 150 abroad and 41 for voters on the left bank of the Dniester.
All citizens of the Republic of Moldova who have reached the age of 18, including those on the day of the elections, have the right to choose, except those deprived of this right in the manner established by law. In order to be considered valid, no less than 1/3 of the total number of voters must participate in the election.
