Almost 6% of voters went to polls by 9.00

Chisinau, 11 July /MOLDPRES/- About 180,000 voters, or about 6%, went to the polls by 9 a.m. in the parliamentary elections.
According to the CEC, 179,392 citizens with the right to vote have already voted, of which 165,317 in Moldova, and 14,075 voters - outside the country.
Out of the total number of voters at national level, 85,070 (51.46%) are women, and 80,244% (48.54%) - men. The most active are the voters in the age category 56-70 years, and in second place are those in the age category 41-55 years.
7,193 men (51.10%) and 6,882 women (48.90%) voted in the polling stations outside the country, and the most active are those in the age category 26-40 years, being followed by voters aged between 56-70 years.
Today, more than 3.2 million Moldovan citizens with the right to vote are expected to participate in the early parliamentary elections. Polling stations are open from 07:00 to 21:00. 23 electoral contestants entered the race for the seats of legislators.
The validation of the ballot requires the presence at the polls of at least one third of the number of voters registered in the electoral lists.
