Chisinau, 12 July /MOLDPRES/ - One of the leaders of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BECS), Igor Dodon, at a today’s news briefing, congratulated the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) on the victory in the snap parliamentary elections. Dodon noted that BECS would become a strong opposition in the future parliament.
”Dear fellow countrymen, we have everybody seen the results of these elections. They speak a lot about the atmosphere and the expectations in the society. The people wanted the change again and they got it. Such a change, such an alternation at the governance is only normal in any democracy. Once in several years, the people want to try something new and this is only natural in politics,’’ Dodon said.
Igor Dodon said that he wished success to the PAS members. ‘’The Bloc of Communists and Socialists achieved an honourable result at these elections, although we obviously wanted a higher general percentage. Yet, the mandates we got will allow us asserting ourselves actively in parliament and defending the citizens’ interests with every force and energy, bearing responsibility before our voters,’’ Dodon stressed.
“In the present conditions, the Bloc of Communists and Socialists will be quite active in defending your interests and the ones of the country. We, the Socialists and Communists, will promote our electoral agenda in parliament and will fight for each draft law, for each goal with social stake for the population. We will work in opposition, so that everybody feels and appreciate our work and determination,’’ the leader of the Party of Socialists said.
Data by the Central Electoral Commission shows that, following the processing of all official reports from the 11 July snap parliamentary elections, PAS picked up 52.80 per cent of the votes, BECS grabbed 27.17 per cent and 5.74 per cent of the voters cast their ballots for the Shor Party.
