Chisinau, 12 July /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii today came up with a message following the 11 July parliamentary elections. Thus, at the end of her mandate, Greceanii thanked the MPs of the tenth legislative period for work and wished success to the future lawmakers.
“After the electoral spirits have calmed down and the composition of the future parliament is almost obvious, I would like to offer to the colleagues MPs of the tenth legislative period thanks for the cooperation carried out and to the future lawmakers – congratulations and wishes of success in the work for the good of the country. The mandate of the parliament of the tenth legislative period was incomplete, but extremely difficult. More than a half of this period was marked by pandemic. For the first time ever, the country’s parliament, under the Decision adopted on 17 March 2020, declared emergency state on the entire territory of Moldova,’’ Greceanii said.
She informed that, despite the pandemic restrictions, Moldova’s parliament of the tenth legislative period had adopted more than 500 normative acts and held 76 plenary meetings.
“Despite the circumstances in which they were launched, the current parliamentary elections represented part of the natural democratic processes in a rule of law state. I hope that the new composition of the parliament will represent the people’s will with dignity and will be guided in its work exclusively by this will and the state’s fundamental law,’’ the parliament speaker added.
