Tenth edition of summer discussions held at B.P. Hasdeu municipal library from Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - The B.P. Hasdeu Municipal Library from Chisinau organizes the tenth issue of the Summer Discussions titled, Public Library’s contribution to turning to good account the local memory, on 21-22 July.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the library’s director, Mariana Harjevschi, said that the summer discussions of the Municipal Library continued the schedule of a big cultural activity titled, I Greet You, Chisinau!, organized by the Culture Department of the Chisinau city hall. The events mark the 585th anniversary of the first documented mention of the Chisinau city.

The summer discussions from this year will be focused on the analysis of good practices in the field of studying and promotion of the local history from Moldova and Romania. In this respect, the participants’ papers will highlight the role of public libraries for the creation of the local memory through bibliographic research; creation and management of local history collections; turning to account and promotion of settlements’ cultural and historical heritage, including of the Chisinau city, etc. At the same time, the summer discussions bring in specialists’ light the most innovative and creative projects for and with users.
