Moldova's Constitutional Court to confirm result of snap parliamentary elections on 23 July

Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Constitutional Court (CCM) will consider an addressing by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) on the confirmation of the snap parliamentary elections and validation of the mandates of the MPs elected on 23 July at 10:00.
CEC on 19 July submitted to CCM the results of the 11 July 2021 snap parliamentary elections. Under the legislation, the Constitutional Court has at its disposal five days to consider the decisions by the central electoral authority.
Following the validation of the elections by the Constitutional Court, the Moldovan president will summon the parliament to its first meeting.
Three political formations met the electoral threshold and will make it to the future parliament. Thus, the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) will have 63 lawmakers in the future parliament out of 101 MPs. The Socialists and Communists will have 32 MPs and the Shor party – six lawmakers.
PAS, which will have the majority in parliament, said it was set to create a new government in the nearest time.
