Over 14,000 people call ambulance in Moldova in last week

Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 14,447 calls for the providing of emergency medical assistance were recorded at the National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Centre on 12-18 July.
According to Centre’s data, the most frequent calls were the cardiovascular emergencies – 2,153, followed by respiratory ones - 2,127 calls. The neurology emergencies stood at 1,961 cases and the traumatology ones – 1,706 cases.
As many as 176 patients called the emergency service with emergencies triggered by physical, chemical and environment agents, of whom 18 people were hit by sunstroke, two ones – by syncopes caused by high air temperatures and three people – by submersion.
A succession intervention took place on 16 July. A 28-year-old man from Soroca was rescued from drowning by members of the local emergency medicine unit from the Varancau village, Soroca district.
