Twenty two thousand of anti-COVID-19 vaccine doses distributed to Transnistrian region

Chisinau, 21 July /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 22,000 doses of anti-COVID-19 vaccine out of the consignments of humanitarian assistance, provided to Moldova, and out of the procurements made from budgetary resources, were distributed for management in the Transnistrian region on the period 16 June -21 July 2021, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.  

Thus, 15,000 doses of Janssen Ad26COV2.S vaccine, 5,000 doses of Sinopharm and 2,000 doses of AstraZeneca reached the left bank of Dniester.

The consignments of vaccine were accompanied by syringes for their administering, for free and against payment for the routine vaccinations according to the programme of immunizations approved.  

The distribution of the vaccines was carried out fairly and proportionally for all administrative and territorial units of Moldova, including for the country’s eastern districts.   

The beneficiaries from the Transnistrian region, besides the vaccine, received also more batches of humanitarian aid which contained individual protection equipment and advanced medical apparatus and the people vaccinated from the Transnistrian region can reconfirm the validity of the vaccination certificate following the addressing to the territorial subdivisions of the public medical and sanitary institutions of Moldova, placed nearby the administrative line.    

The campaign off vaccination against Covid-19 started in Moldova on 2 March 2021 and  892,293 vaccine doses have been administered till present, of which 107,306 ones in the administrative and territorial units from the left bank of Dniester and Bender municipality.
