According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), the consignment represents a technical support for combating COVID-19 in Moldova, as well as for implementing the National Immunization Plan. Thirty fridges of the consignment are for depositing vaccines at temperature of -15 Celsius degrees/-25 Celsius degrees and six fridges are for the preservation of doses at temperatures of +2 Celsius degrees/+8 degrees.
The COVAX platform is led by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) and the Word Health Organization (WHO), along with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), which is leader of the procurements and deliveries of vaccines. This is the only global initiative, which works with governments and producers, in order to make sure that the COVID-19 vaccines are available all over the world, both for the high-income countries and the low-income ones.
