Factory of ready-made clothes from Tiraspol develops with support of Sweden, United Nations Development Programme

Chisinau, 22 July /MOLDPRES/ - A textiles company from Tiraspol has undertaken more innovative actions for developing the business and preserve the jobs in the pandemic crisis and for this, it called for the assistance of Sweden and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Through the Development of Export Capacities on the Banks of Dniester (AdTrade), the enterprise was helped to identify new export markets and business partners.    

„Despite notable results of the company, we have not managed to cope with the new realities by ourselves.  Due to the assistance provided, we made an analysis of our export potential and a big research of a promising market for us, the one from Azerbaijan. We already hold negotiations with some of the potential clients, identified with the help of the project,’’ the company’s director, Boris Chiciuc, said.  

Also with the assistance of UNDP and Sweden, the enterprise goes through a process of certification according to the quality management system, which will enhance the entrepreneurial success and the profit of the company.  

Also, with the support of Sweden and UNDP, the enterprise will benefit from services of creating an online shop to penetrate the EU market, which will be endowed with new functionalities and will become a working instrument with the entire basis of clients of the company and an efficient instrument for promotion on the foreign market.   

The factory from Tiraspol is one of those over 600 companies from both banks of Dniester, which in the last two years have benefited from assistance of the AdTrade project, provided with Sweden’s financial support. Twenty six exporting enterprises out of the 600 ones have improved their competitiveness through adoption of technological innovations and enhancing the capacities by the extension of transactions abroad. The assistance provided by UNDP and development partners, such as Sweden, represents an answer to the needs of recovery, identified following an assessment made by UNDP among the small- micro- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from both banks of Dniester.  

In the next two years, UNDP, with the financial assistance of Sweden and the United Kingdom, will continue backing SMEs from both banks of Dniester through the project, Development of Export Capacities on the Banks of Dniester (AdTrade), in order to develop their capacities of export and facilitate the commerce on the European market. The support provided will also help economic empowering of women and reduce the inequalities through encouraging a better participation of women and socially vulnerable groups.
