Moldovan Official Journal publishes decision on reorganization of National Food Safety Agency

Chisinau, 23 July /MOLDPRES/ - The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) will be reorganized, under a cabinet decision published in the 23 July issue of the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial). The amendments see the employment of over 200 physicians and medical assistants in Moldova’s districts.
The draft provides for the creation of a framework which will regulate, in a new formula, the organization and work of the National Food Safety Agency, ‘’accessibly and efficiently, contributing to the conformable carrying out of the mission, activity sectors and tasks due to be entrusted to the Agency, as well as of the tasks which are to be delegated additionally.’’
„The draft amendment implies, mainly, the employment in the territory of 202 veterinary physicians and veterinary assistants, who are to be in charge of the carrying out of the sanitary and veterinary measures, stipulated according to the programme of strategic actions of supervision, prophylaxis and combating the animals’ diseases,’’ the document reads.
The amendments proposed will ensure the strengthening of the carrying out of the state control, specific to the food products of animal and vegetal origin, in order to protect the human health, protect the consumers’ interests as regards the food products and promote fair practices in the commerce with food products.
