Moldova's Bloc of Communists and Socialists not to back candidacy of Natalia Gavrilita for PM office

Chisinau, 30 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BESC) will not support the candidacy of Natalia Gavrilita for the office of prime minister. MP Corneliu Furculita made statements to this effect at a news conference today.   

According to Furculita, BECS will back no candidature put forward by the parliamentary majority.  

“No matter the candidacy, even Natalia Gavrilita, who had attempts, but did not get any vote, even from his MPs, we are an opposition which will toughly criticize this governance and will accuse all mistakes,’’ Furculita said.   

The leader of the Party of Socialists (PSRM), Igor Dodon, has earlier said that ‘’Natalia Gavrilita is a good professional; yet, the opposition cannot back the people of the power to the key positions from institutions.’’

Following the consultations with the parliamentary actions today morning, President Maia Sandu nominated Natalia Gavrilita as candidate for the office of prime minister.

„Natalia Gavrilita has at her disposal two weeks, in order to create the team and work out the government’s action programme, which she is to present in parliament,’’ Sandu said.
